‘Emiel Zevenhoven, born and raised in Haarlem’ I started dj-ing at home. At the time I was just 11 years old. A few years later I decided it was time to take it to the next level. I bought my first professional set. By the time I had to choose which education I wanted, I already knew that it had to be something with music. I realized that my heroes were the founders of old school American hip-hop music, icons such as Dr. Dre. I had to be behind the mixer too.’

‘I took on audio engineering classes and also started producing. During and after my education I dreamed of one day owning my own studio. After discussing my ambitions with my parents, we decided to just do it. And that was the beginning of Culture. There was a need for a high quality, but also affordable studio in the Netherlands. A studio where it’s all about the best equipment, great sound and a good workflow. A private place without distractions where you forget about time. A place where you’re able to create your own culture.’
